The annual IUDI lecture series was held at Lucknow on the September 26th, 2012 to coincide with the starting of the centenary celebrations for Canberra, the capital of Australia whose architect Walter Burly Griffin found his final resting place at Lucknow. This was held in collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture Gautam Buddha Technical University. Prof. Khandal, Vice Chancellor of the university inaugurated the proceedings. The lecture series was broadly divided into three sessions followed by an exhibition of students work from the technical university. The first session comprised of presentations by Dr. David Headon, Prof. Cristopher Vernon on Griffins work followed by a presentation on Lucknow by Mr. HimanshuSoni, Mr. Sushil Gupta and Mr. Rajat Kant. This was followed by a photo essay on Lucknow by ace photographer Mr. Ravi Kapoor. The third session was a panel discussion on Lucknow - past present and future, with Mr. Jayant Krishna, Ms. MadhviKuckreja, Ms. Amrita Dass, Ms. Farida Abraham & Mr. ChanderPrakash as panelist. Prof RituGulati from GBTU and Mr. Rajat Kant from IUDI moderated the panel. The sessions ended with concluding remarks from Prof Jagbir Singh, Dean, Faculty of Architecture, GBTU and vote of thanks by Prof. RanjitMitra from IUDI
